PLANS to build 408 homes on a former university campus have finally been submitted.
David Wilson Homes (DWH) has lodged a planning application for the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) site in Alsager – which will also include 'extensive' sporting facilities.
The site has been earmarked for housing since MMU relocated staff and students to Crewe.

Payout for woman, 79, after fall in Sainsbury's
PENSIONER Jean Annis has received a five-figure compensation payout from a supermarket – after falling in one of the stores.
The 79-year-old, from Alsager, fractured her right arm in four places after tripping on matting at Alsager's Sainsbury's Local.
She also cut her lip and bruised her chin and eye.

DOZENS of families look set to lose their fight against plans to build 128 homes in their town.
Developer Prospect Homes wants to create the housing estate on land south of Hall Drive in Alsager.

Heartless thieves steal tribute to Daniel Hughes from gym
FAMILY and friends of tragic Daniel Hughes have spoken of their 'devastation' after burglars stole a football shirt which was being displayed in his memory.
His Alsager Bank FC shirt was put up in Hanley's True Grit gym in honour of the 28-year-old, who died suddenly in his home in March this year.
Dan's mother, Sue Hughes, now wants the person who took the shirt, which was taken in the past week, to return it as soon as possible.

Thug jailed after attacking his ex-girlfriend
VIOLENT Joshua Wyatt has been jailed for attacking his ex-partner in front of their young son.
The 23-year-old hit Chantelle Figiel in the face several times, while repeating 'You want to be single'.
